I stood in the art room alone today. The room I’ve spent the last three years drawing and painting nonstop. The room where the majority of my high school memories are stored. Every stained, every piece, every sketch, every pencil stroke, every time I feel like giving up, every time I get back up, all came back to me as I tried to take every little detail in.
And today, I stood there and cry.
Today, for the last time, I stood there as a high school student.
On Monday, I will graduate.
In August, I will leave for a new beginning.
It’s been wonderful.
I’ll see you again.
